Questions Regarding Keratin Hair Straightening

Q: What type of Keratin Hair Straighteners do you use?
A: We use Pravana Keratin Fusion Texture control and BioElements.  We are also using Aveda's Smooth Infusion Retexturizing System which you can read more about at the bottom of the page.


Q: Does it contain formaldehyde?
A: No, there is Zero Formaldehyde in the product


Q: Does it contain Thio?
A: No, there is Zero Thio in the product.


Q: How do the products you use differ from other traditional straighteners, smoothers or relaxers?
A: While others use Thio, Formaldehyde and sodium hydroxide, Keratin Infusion employs a proprietary cystemamine/botanical reducing system coupled with pure Keratin Protein to permanently and effectively transform hair texture from both inside outside the hair fiber.


Q: How long will it last?
A: Indefinitely. There will be minimal texture reversion. Touch-ups can be done once the hair has grown 1 1/4 inches from the scalp.


Q: How long do I have to wait to shampoo my hair?
A: You should wait 48-72 hours before shampooing your hair, or using bands or hair clips. You should also use the Thermal insulator prior to any thermal styling.


Q: How much does it cost?
A: The treatment cost $100 per hour so it will depend on the length of your hair.


Q: Can I get the treatment if my hair is colored?
A: Yes, Keratin Fusion can be successfully used over color treated or highlighted hair up to 50%.  We recommend two weeks between chemical treatments.


Q: Will my hair be completely straight or can i leave in some wave or body?
A: Your choice. The treatment can be targeted to your needs.


Q: Is it safe?
A: It is completely safe. No need to wear a mask or have your stylist where breathing apparatus with this treatment unlike other treatment there are no dangerous chemicals.
